In order to support China’s major demand of constructing ‘Manufacturing Power’ and creating ‘Advanced Manufacturing Research and Development Base’, Tianhe Industrial Cloud Platform (TICP) has comprehensively broken through the technical challenges such as high performance, high integration and high availability of information platform. TICP is a powerful genetic cloud-based platform as it is developed via the integration of cloud platform and high-performance computing (HPC), which means that TICP have the advantages of cloud computing and supercomputing. TICP breaks through the difficulties of supercomputing applied in advanced manufacturing based on Tianhe-1A. Tianhe-1A, the fastest computer in the world from October 2010 to June 2011, is one of the few Peta scale supercomputers in the world. By utilizing Tianhe-1A, TICP is generic as it supports a wide range of applications while keeping high-level efficiency, stability, security and good user experience. TICP, a collaborative cloud platform driven by supercomputing, has been approved as one of the first batch of ‘Industrial Cloud’ in China and became a national ‘Service-Oriented Manufacturing Demonstration Platform’. The major objectives of the TICP are (1) improving the research and development efficiency of small and medium-sized enterprises, (2) cultivating new economic growth points and (3) gathering international technical teams. TICP is one of the most heat focused industrial application cases that cultivated new forms of business and laid a solid foundation for the construction of Industrial Internet Platform.
