Ergosterols from Ganoderma sinense and their anti-inflammatory activities by inhibiting NO production

•Three new ergosterols and four known ones were isolated from Ganoderma sinense.•The structures were elucidated by extensive spectroscopic methods.•Four ergosterols showed inhibitory activity against NO production.
