摘要
•Fully developed heat transfer of liquid plug moving in annular pipe is studied.•Plug flow enhances heat transfer as compared to continuous flow.•Heat transfer of plug flow includes boundary layer transport and radial transport.•Enhancement is caused by radial transport driven by vortex circulation.•Enhancement is a function of plug radius ratio, dimensionless length, and Peclet number.
