摘要

•Some e-liquids tested contained monoamine oxidase inhibitory activity, correlating with the presence of vanillin and ethyl vanillin.•The amount of inhibitory activity may be sufficient to affect the monoamine oxidase enzyme activity of ENDS users under some conditions of use.•If monoamine oxidase inhibitors are present at sufficient levels in these products, addictiveness and usage patterns could be impacted.
