Copeptin in CCK-4-induced panic in healthy man: Sexual dimorphisms in secretion pattern and panic response, but no correlation of copeptin with panic symptoms.

•Copeptin, a surrogate marker for vasopressin, is released during CCK-4-induced panic in healthy man.•Men showed an increased copeptin response to CCK-4 versus women, though female subjects displayed higher panic ratings.•No significant correlation of copeptin release and panic response was demonstrated.•The vasopressinergic system in panic anxiety needs further research.
