Pituitary abscess following endoscopic endonasal drainage of a suprasellar arachnoid cyst: Case report and review of the literature.

•Symptomatic sellar arachnoid cysts are rare, and can cause visual dysfunction.•Pituitary abscess are rare but recognised complications of transsphenoidal surgery.•We present a case of a pituitary abscess developing following decompression of a sellar arachnoid cyst.
