Neurological symptoms associated with oil spill response exposures: Results from the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill Coast Guard Cohort Study.

•Little is understood about acute neurological symptoms related to oil spill clean-up exposures.•We evaluated neurological symptoms potentially associated with oil spill exposures in DWH oil spill Coast Guard responders.•Crude oil and combined crude oil/oil dispersant exposures were associated with increased acute neurological symptoms.•Heat may interact synergistically with oil exposures to yield higher prevalence of acute neurological symptoms.•Given the cross sectional nature of this study, these findings should be interpreted with caution
