Research of the Brake Pad Eccentric Wear Simulation of Medium-low Speed Maglev Train Based on RecurDyn

The medium-low speed maglev trains occupy an important position in urban rail transit due to their unique advantages. However, the eccentric wear of the brake pads in the field seriously affects the safety and operating costs of trains operation. The paper based on the working principle of train brake and multi-body dynamics theory, and the degree of eccentric wear of brake pads is evaluated by the distribution of contact force on the surface of brake pads. Firstly, the RecurDyn which is multi-body dynamics simulation software is used to establish the brake multi-rigid body model, and the reliability of the model is verified based on the comparison of field data and simulation model output values. Then, the brake pads are equipped with no initial eccentric wear and initial eccentric wear, and the dynamic braking simulation experiments are carried out respectively. Finally, the change curve of contact forces during braking and the distribution of contact forces after steady state of brake pads are obtained. The results of simulation show that under the condition of no initial eccentric wear, the lower end eccentric wear will occur. After the initial eccentric wear of brake pads, the degree of partial wear will be aggravated. The method can provide theoretical basis and technical support for the eccentric wear prediction of brake pads of medium-low speed maglev trains.
