On the direct relation between REDOR and DIPSHIFT experiments in solid-state NMR.

•REDOR and DIPSHIFT are shown to be alternate implementations of the same experiment.•DIPSHIFT will now allow the measurement of couplings with low values as well.•It will require lower RF amplitudes and also allow frequency selective determination of couplings.•DIPSHIFT is demonstrated at fast MAS frequencies without increased RF amplitudes.
