Outcomes in Trauma Patients With Behavioral Health Disorders.

Trauma patients with a BHD had lower overall mortality compared with those without a BHD. However, on subgroup analysis, those with dementia had increased mortality. BHDs increased risk for any inpatient complication and prolonged LOS. Trauma patients with BHDs represent a vulnerable population and warrant special attention to minimize harm and improve outcomes.
