Benign breast conditions: An eight-year single-centre histopathological review of women presenting with mass lesions at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Ghana.

•2805 women with mass lesions who presented with benign breast conditions (BBC).•Fibroadenoma was the most common benign breast condition in Ghana occurring in every 7 out 10 patients..•Age and increasing size of tumour were the two important parameters associated with the presentation of BBC in Ghana.•This study confirms Africans have higher prevalence of fibroadenoma than caucasians•Fibrocystic change was the second highest BBC patients presented with, affecting patients above 40 years of age.
