Coordinated Multicell Beamforming and Power Allocation for Massive MIMO: A Large System Analysis

•We study coordinated multicell beamforming and power allocation for downlink massive MIMO system.•Beamforming vectors and power allocation strategy are optimized to minimize the total transmit power.•The relationship between power minimization problem and the max-min SINR problem is found in the asymptotic regime.•Our algorithm can reduce the overhead of backhaul links and obtain the near optimal performance.
