In vivo testing of an optimized materially heterogeneous annuloplasty ring in Dorsett hybrid sheep showed benefits of reduced suture loading in the posterior annular segments like fully flexible rings, while maintaining 3-dimensional saddle shape throughout the cardiac cycle.
