摘要
•Novel planar metallic waveguide based sensor is proposed and studied.•The proposed sensor is used for detection of adulteration in automobile fuel.•Proposed sensor shows higher sensitivity in comparison to existing similar sensors.•Obtained experimental results are in good agreement with theoretical values.•Present approach is stable for detection of adulterated petrol and diesel.
