Application of satellite imagery in estimating stockpiled reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) inventory: A Washington State case study

•Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP) stockpile weights were estimated from Google Earth.•Remote surveying can replace traditional methods of aggregate stockpile management.•National Asphalt Pavement Association data conforms with virtual survey findings.•RAP stockpiles in Washington State have been increasing in size over the past decade.•It is essential to manage oversupply of RAP to retain its 99% recyclability claim.
