Synthesis and structure of the mixed phosphito-phosphine cation complex [Ru(η5-C5H5)(CO)(PPh3){P(OMe)3}]BPh4

Hydrolysis of the vinylidene complex [Ru(eta(5)-C5H5){=C=C(H)Ph} (PPh3){P(OMe)(3)}]BPh4 afforded the mixed-ligands carbonyl derivative [Ru(eta(5)-C5H5)(CO)(PPh3){P(OMe)(3)}]BPh4. Its structure has been determined by X-ray diffraction. The compound crystallizes in the monoclinic crystal system, space group P2(1)/c, with one anion and one cation in the asymmetric unit. The cation complex contains a ruthenium atom in a half-sandwich piano-stool structure. One trimethylphosphito, one triphenylphosphine and one carbonyl ligand are the legs of the stool. [GRAPHICS] .
