Surgycal treatment of unicystic ameloblastoma of the mandible and root canal filling using mta in association with parendodontic surgery

Background: The ameloblastoma is a benign adenomatoid odontogenic tumor of epithelial origin, of slow growth, asymptomatic, locally invasive and aggressive, able to infiltrate by medullary spaces of bone. The facial asymmetry as well as the displacement and dental mobility are the most frequent clinical signs. The tumor account for approximately 1% of all tumors of the maxilla and mandible and for 11% of all odontogenic tumors. Radiographically can find unilocular radiolucent image with a single or multilocular, in many cases, a non-erupted tooth, most often a lower third molar is associated with radiolucent defect, root resorption of teeth involved the tumor are common. The definitive diagnosis is made by biopsy.
