Influence of co-catalysts on the photocatalytic activity of MIL-125(Ti)-NH2 in the overall water splitting

•MIL-125(Ti)-NH2 is a photocatalyst to promote overall water splitting evolving H2 and O2 in stoichiometric amounts.•The presence of co-catalysts increases the activity, reaching a hydrogen production of 218 μmol × g-1.•The maximum quantum efficiency is 0.32 at 400 nm.•MOF stability after the photocatalytic reaction was confirmed by TEM, XRD and XPS analyses.
