The clinical significance of lower limb tremors.

•The frequency and associated features of lower limb tremor is not well explored.•Prevalence of lower limb tremor was lowest (28.6%) in essential tremor and highest (69%) in Parkinsonian patients.•Other common causes were cerebellar tremor, dystonic tremor and functional tremor.•Lower limb tremor is a marker of severity of the underlying disease condition in all tremor groups except functional tremor.•Lower limb tremor reflects longer disease duration in essential tremor-plus, dystonic and Parkinsonian tremor.
