•ESAEs-OCCCH is proposed for intelligent fall detection based on accelerometer data.•Ensemble stacked autoencoders; one-class classification based on the convex hull.•Thirteen FAs and sixteen ADLs are simulated by young volunteers in two experiments.•Experimental results demonstrate the performance and stability of the method.
