Noninvasive coupling of PbPc monolayers to epitaxial graphene on SiC(0001)

•Growth and electronic structure of PbPc molecules on epitaxial graphene investigated by STM and surface transport.•The adsorption is noninvasive in terms of charge transfer and modification of the charge carrier mobility in graphene.•The class of phthalocyanines turns out to be suitable for proximity studies in graphene.
