摘要

•Biodegradable chitosan/PEO blend was subjected to C+5 and Ni+7 ions irradiation.•The physicochemical changes were investigated as a function of beam parameters.•The blend structure degrade due to enhance in free volume and scission of bonds.•Optical response revealed creation of conjugated bonds and carbonized structures.•The physicochemical modifications enhance the dielectric responses.
