Influence of temperature and soda concentration in a thermo-mechano-chemical pretreatment for bioethanol production from sweet corn co-products

•Sweet corn co-products pretreated in twin screw extruder with sodium hydroxide.•Temperature can improve alkali effects on hemicelluloses solubilization and enzymatic hydrolysis.•High temperatures and alkaline loadings limit filtration step within extruder.•Continuous pretreatment reach 500 g of fermentable sugars per 1 Kg of dry SCC.
