Physician and Patient Determinants of Prognostic Counseling in Idiopathic REM Sleep-Behavior Disorder

•We analyzed prognostic counseling, patient and physician characteristics in idiopathic/isolated REM sleep behavior disorder (iRBD).•Only 47% of iRBD patients received prognostic counseling concerning phenoconversion.•Age over 60 years and dream-enactment behavior as chief complaint were associated with counseling.•Male neurologists were most likely to offer prognostic counseling.•Future analyses of RBD patient preferences concerning prognostic counseling is necessary to inform best practices.
