Efficient synthesis of a side-chain extended diaminodiacid for solid-phase synthesis of peptide disulfide bond mimics

•We developed the first five-atom thioether bridged diaminodiacids.•High cysteine monomers were produced using inexpensive homoserine as raw material.•Oxytocin mimetic containing new disulfide bond mimic was obtained by SPPS.
