Dermacoccus nishinomiyaensis as a cause of persistent paediatric catheter-related bacteraemia
Clinical Microbiology and Infection(2019)
摘要
Abstract The authors herein report a persistent Dermacoccus nishinomiyaensis catheter- related bacteremia in a 1-year-old boy with severe Hirschsprungu0027s disease. D. nishinomiyaensis isolates were identified by Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption-Ionization Time-of-Light Mass Spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS; Bruker Daltonics), confirmed by sequencing of the rrs gene encoding the 16rRNA. Enterobacterial repetitive intergenic consensus sequence- Polymerase Chain Reaction (ERIC-PCR) analysis was performed , and showed a clonal strain. D. nishinomiyaensis catheter-related bacteremia has not been previously documented. This case of persistent infection subsequently resolved in response to vancomycin and urokinase lock therapy that helped to maintain the catheter.
