An improved electronic medical record system (IEMRS) using oblivious transfer

With the development of cloud service, electronic medical record systems enable hospitals and doctors to capture, transmit and analyze patients' medical and health information more efficiently, which provides very useful and economic services for patients, medical institutions and government. However, security and privacy issues have not been well addressed in the existing schemes. This article presents an improved electronic medical record system (IEMRS) with two desirable functionalities, where a mutual authentication is used to guarantee authorized requests, and the privacy of a request query is achieved to resist the intruder. Performance analysis demonstrates that the IEMRS scheme outperforms other schemes.
