Malaria in a 10-day old infant: A case report
Pediatric Infectious Disease(2013)
摘要
An infant is described who presented with fever, irritability and feeding problems. Clinical examination revealed that the infant was febrile, had hepatosplenomegaly and was in congestive heart failure. Peripheral smear demonstrated Plasmodium vivax. The mother had no history of febrile illness during pregnancy and her peripheral smear was negative for P. vivax. Infant was successfully treated with chloroquine in the dose of 25 mg/kg/day over three days.
