Quantity discount pricing for rail transport in a dry port system

•A quantity discount rail transport pricing problem is studied in a dry port system.•We develop a Stackelberg game model under the single breakpoint pricing scheme.•We analyze the optimal properties and propose algorithms to solve the model optimally.•The pricing scheme increase dry port’s profit while leaving shippers no worse off.•Shippers with high production rates are more likely to save costs.
