The evolution of the lithospheric mantle beneath Ia Bang, Pleiku plateau, Central Vietnam

•Spinel peridotites from Ia Bang reveal variations in lherzolites and harzburgites.•The peridotites have undergone 1–20% fractional melting and cryptic metasomatism.•The equilibrium temperatures of the peridotites range from 841 °C to 1131 °C.•The peridotites are present as the Proterozoic harzburgites and the Phanerozoic lherzolites.
