Operation Duration Assessment Of Isolated Island Considering Demand Side Response

The operation duration of the isolated island formed after fault is an important indicator of the operation ability. In this paper, a novel bi-level mixed-integer nonlinear model is proposed to assess the operation duration and power shortage probability of the isolated island with fully consideration of the uncertainties of the wind turbines (WTs), the photovoltaic generators (PVs) and the load. Besides, demand-side response based on the electricity price is added into the model to analyze its effect on the island operation duration. A modified IEEE 13-bus power system with a certain penetration of WTs and PVs is employed to validate the proposed method.
