Systems pharmacology uncovers the mechanisms of anti-asthma herbal medicine intervention (ASHMI) for the prevention of asthma

Asthma is a common chronic inflammatory airway disorder associated with considerable morbidity and mortality worldwide. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) as a functional food characterized by multi-compound and multi-target have been proven to be effective in treating asthma. However, the potential mechanism of TCM to anti-asthma has not been fully elucidated. In our study, a systems pharmacology-based method is developed to comprehensively elucidate the therapeutic mechanism of asthma, exemplified by the anti-asthma herbal medicine intervention (ASHMI).
