摘要

•The novelty is used the NBSB as a probe of basicity coming from nitrogen species anchored to MCF.•The interaction between basic sites and NBSB was proved by UV–vis and FTIR spectroscopies.•The nature of solvent determines direct (ACN) or indirect (water) probing by NBSB.•NBSB appeared to be a selective indicator for nitrogen-containing species.
