Energy efficiency optimization in big data processing platform by improving resources utilization

•Energy efficiency is a constant if resource allocation for a task satisfies certain proportions no matter how many of the resources are assigned.•We deduce the Best Resource Ratio (BBR) of data processing tasks that results in the highest energy efficiency.•Base on BBR, we design the novel task scheduling and resource allocation algorithm for energy efficiency optimization.
