Giant drag reduction on Leidenfrost spheres evaluated from extended free-fall trajectories

•Novel data on Leidenfrost drag reduction collected using large liquid tanks.•The entire sphere fall trajectory is analyzed.•The drags reduction is extending to the supercritical range.•Demonstrated is the lowest drag coefficient measured on falling sphere.
