Effects of spheroidizing treatment on the dynamic recrystallization behavior and yield asymmetry of an extruded Mg94Zn2.5Y2.5Mn1 alloy

This paper demonstrates that spheroidizing treatment greatly affects the microstructure and mechanical properties of the extruded Mg94Zn2.5Y2.5Mn1 (at%) alloy. The extruded alloy with spheroidizing treatment exhibits higher strength but lower yield symmetry than that without spheroidizing treatment. The detailed reasons are given and analyzed.
