Investigation And Improvement Of The Nist Calculable Capacitor

This paper reports our effort to improve the NIST calculable capacitor and our understanding of it through developing computer models and upgrading its subsystems. We demonstrate an upgraded servo system that replaces an old analog circuit for cavity stabilization of the Fabry-Perot interferometer. The new servo system, based on a single multifunction I/O device, is more flexible and performs better than the old control system.
