摘要

•Several kind of tungsten materials were exposed to soft Z-pinch X-ray sources.•Surface swelling of W samples was observed and the swelling heights were measured.•FWDR1D code could partially expound the measured surface swelling height data.•Thermomechanical damage thresholds of W to pulsed soft X-rays are determined.
