摘要
The objective was to generate maps of dengue cases using a Geographic Information System (GIS) to indicate risk areas at the Monterrey metropolitan area (AMMty), Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Positive samples to one test for dengue, by the Public Health State Laboratory (LESPNL) were considered cases. The cases were grouped into a Basic Geostatistical Area (AGEB's). AGEB's outbreak and outbreak week were defined. There were 114 AGEB's outbreak and 33 outbreak weeks. The AGEB's were ranked in five levels of risk: very high, high, medium, low, and at risk. AGEB's that included very high and high risk areas comprised 7.9% of the AGEB's and 41.4% of cases. Most frequency was during weeks 38-45; this is the rainy season. Based on the results, AMMty should now be considered endemic.
