Study on the Performance of β-MnO 2 –Lithium-Ion Full Battery

In this paper the β-MnO 2 nanoparticles are prepared by thermal decomposition of MnCO 3 , and characterized by scanning electron microscopy, thermogravimetry and differential scanning calorimeter, surface area and pore size analyzer, reflectance infrared spectrometer, X-ray powder diffractometer and energy dispersive spectrometer. The porous lithium foil/graphite is used as the anode for β-MnO 2 –Li-ion full battery, and the charge-discharge of full battery is tested with the galvanostatic current in the potential range of 4.0–2.0 V, the discharge capacities at higher current densities of 0.5 mA cm –2 are maintained at around 100.0 mA h g –1 for 20–300 cycles. The full battery can effectively improve the discharge capacity and cycle life.
