Statistical optimization for production of mefenamic acid–nicotinamide cocrystals using gas anti-solvent (GAS) process

•Production of MEF–NIC cocrystals was performed by GAS process.•Box–Behnken design was used to study and optimize the process parameters.•Coformer-to-drug ratio and %drug saturation were significant factors.•MEF–NIC cocrystals could dissolve 38 times faster than the unprocessed MEF.
