Optical characterization of the active push–pull cell for the 21 m telescope at OAN SPM

Successful tests and results that confirm an efficient behavior of the new common-pull ( controlled vacuum), multiple-push primary mirror cell for the 2.1 m telescope at OAN/SPM, are presented. An optical design program that reduces the information obtained from intra-and extra-focal Hartmann patterns, using the direction cosines of the rays that cross the sampled regions, is discussed. The intrinsic uncertainties of this method are evaluated.(C) 2017 Optical Society of America
