A content analysis of the Journal of Latina/o Psychology 2013–2016.

The Journal of Latina/o Psychology (JLP) began in 2012 for the purpose of establishing an outlet for research focused on the U.S. Latina/o population. We examined the first 16 issues of JLP (2013-2016). Over this time span there were 57,364 research participants within 69 articles published. In terms of institutional affiliation, there were 98 institutions represented by 250 authors. The authors used the content categories identified by JLP as focus areas to categorize each article. The authors also suggested additional content categories that were not listed but may be useful for the journal. Implications for the future of JLP are discussed.
