Time-Oriented System to Control Critical Medications.

It is a truism that time has a high relevance in medicine. The prescription of several medicines to a patient usually must satisfy timing intervals according to their composition. An incorrect administration can lead to severe consequences to the patient or in the best of the cases lower the effect of other drugs. In this paper we want to provide a solution for this problem introducing a prototype that is able to detect anomalies between doses administration in critical medicines. In this vein, we develop a software in three steps: the first one is in charge of filling a database with the commercial name of medicines, taken from the Mayo Clinic website. Once the database is complete, we design an interface to request the information about the medication of a patient and verifying the time restrictions. In a third step, if the patient selects a medicine with time restrictions, the system will search using a web scrapper and a parser for the components that may interact with the first medication, and will set a time restriction alert, facilitating the controls to provide a correct administration.
