摘要
Burmeistera villosa (Campanulaceae-Lobelioideae), a new vestured species from the Chocó/Valle del Cauca border region, is described and illustrated, and its affinities are discussed. The species is a small, unbranched herb that stands out from other species by its densely villous indument that covers all its organs, and the narrow, nearly straight corolla lobes that point forward. The new species grows in seepage areas of cloud forests of the Western Cordillera of Colombia. Eleven additional species of Burmeistera grow in the type locality, one of the hotspots for the genus. The species is known only from the type collection. The type locality is a threatened environment that holds an outstanding diversity for Burmeistera and currently lacks active and effective environmental protection policies.
