Describing drug and fluid therapy in the paediatric intensive care unit: A pilot study.

•This multi-modal approach is feasible and reliable.•Staff in the PICU spend most of their time on drug and fluid related activities.•The main activities observed were preparation and administration of drug and fluids.•Bedside activities often occurred concomitantly and were interrupted.
