摘要
•Micronized copper azole (MCA) is a novel treatment for waterproofing lumber.•Our group has established that sanding this material releases cytotoxic particles, including nanoparticles.•We exposed mice to dust from untreated yellow pine, MCA, or copper azole-treated lumber (CA-C) via oropharyngeal aspiration.•Both MCA and CA-C increased inflammation more than UYP exposure, including lavage cytokines and inflammatory cells.•MCA caused more severe inflammatory responses than CA-C at 1 day post-exposure.
