摘要
•The NMDA receptor antagonist phencyclidine (PCP) impairs emotional memory.•PCP acts most probably by interfering with the encoding phase (acquisition) of learning.•Atypical antipsychotic drugs such as clozapine block the impairing effect of PCP.•Typical antipsychotic drugs such as haloperidol fail to block the impairing effect of PCP.•The 5-HT1A and/or 5-HT7 receptor subtypes are implicated in the actions of PCP and clozapine on the regulation of emotional memory.
