Solution structure and dynamics of glia maturation factor from Caenorhabditis elegans.

•CeGMF shows typical ADF-H fold with two extra β strands in β4-β5 loop like other GMFs.•Structural differences between CeGMF and mammalian GMFs were observed mainly at the Site-2 region.•The β4-β5 loop of Site-2 in CeGMF is less flexible than F-loop of cofilin isoform UNC-60B.•Differences in packing of α3-α1, and in α1-β2 loop orientation were observed between CeGMF and ADF/cofilins.•CeGMF shows higher thermal stability in comparison to ADF/cofilin isoforms.
