Analytical performance of the Hologic Aptima HBV Quant Assay and the COBAS Ampliprep/COBAS TaqMan HBV test v2.0 for the quantification of HBV DNA in plasma samples.

•Aptima HBV Quant and CAPCTMv2 HBV tests for measuring HBV DNA were compared.•Average quantification bias on 120 samples was −0.19 Log IU/mL (Aptima – CAPCTMv2).•The two tests were highly correlated with similar linear dynamic responses.•A high agreement between tests at clinical decision levels was observed.•Both tests are useful for monitoring patients with HBV infection.
